BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” Four adults were taken into custody in rural southern Ohio after 16 children were found living in what authorities described as unlivable conditions inside a home in the village of Hamden. The raid was carried out jointly by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the local sheriff's office. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost said the conditions inside the home were difficult to imagine and not fit even for adults. The arrested individuals were identified as Gary Sayders, Christina Sayders and Elizabeth Sayders. They face charges of child endangering, classified as a second-degree felony encompassing the infliction of serious physical harm on children. Officials said the children ranged in age from 18 months to 18 years. Several were found with serious health problems, and two were airlifted by helicopter to Level 1 trauma centers for treatment of severe injuries. Further details on the investigation were not immediately released.
