Five workers were poisoned following the explosion of a chlorine cylinder at a warehouse in the Rashidiyah district of Anbar province. Security forces and civil defense teams responded to the scene, transporting the injured to nearby hospitals.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the leak and the safety conditions at the facility.
In a separate operation, the Middle Customs Unit seized shipments of prohibited and smuggled human medications concealed in two trucks. The contraband was transported from northern provinces and falsely declared as fruit shipments.
The seized medications have been handed over to the relevant health authorities, and legal proceedings have been initiated against the drivers.
