Drug trafficker arrested in Kirkuk operation, Iraqi border command says

KIRKUK, Iraq โ Security forces in Kirkuk arrested one of the city's most prominent drug traffickers in an operation carried out by an anti-narcotics unit, security sources said. The suspect was apprehended in an ambush set up after intelligence tracking, according to the sources.
A quantity of narcotics was seized from the suspect and placed into custody in line with legal procedures, the sources added. The man was handed over to the relevant authorities pending the completion of the investigation and his referral to the judiciary.
Separately, the Iraqi Border Security Command said four Asian nationals were detained while attempting to enter the country illegally. According to the command, the operation was conducted by elements of the 4th Battalion under the 1st Regional Border Brigade.
