BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Gold prices rose at Baghdad's wholesale and jewelry markets on Wednesday, with the sale price of a miskal of 21-karat imported gold reaching 1.012 million Iraqi dinar and the purchase price at 1.008 million dinar at wholesale points along Sharhu'n-Nahr street, according to local market data.
The wholesale sale price was 1.006 million dinar the previous day. In the same market, 21-karat domestic gold was selling at 982,000 dinar per miskal, with a purchase price of 978,000 dinar.
Retail jewelry shops in the bazaar recorded miskal sale prices of 1.015 million to 1.025 million dinar for imported gold and 985,000 to 995,000 dinar for domestic gold. The increase pushed the wholesale sale price of imported gold past the 1 million dinar mark for the first time.
