Dollar Rates Hold Steady in Baghdad, Erbil and Basra

The dollar’s exchange rate against the Iraqi dinar remained unchanged at elevated levels in the main markets of Baghdad, Erbil and Basra on Thursday afternoon, 21 May 2026, while the official rate stayed at 130,000 dinars per 100 dollars. Market prices continued to trade above the official benchmark. In Baghdad, the selling rate stood at 154,500 dinars per 100 dollars, while the buying rate reached 153,750 dinars. In Basra, the selling price was recorded at 154,000 dinars, and the wholesale buying rate at 153,500 dinars. Erbil also saw no change, with the selling rate at 154,000 dinars and the local traders’ buying rate at 153,250 dinars.
