Diyala Provincial Council has confirmed five cases of hemorrhagic fever within the province, prompting immediate medical and veterinary interventions to contain the viral outbreak.
Council member Raed Magamis al-Tamimi stated that all affected individuals were transferred to quarantine wards under medical supervision. While some patients have already recovered, others remain under treatment, and no fatalities have been reported.
Provincial authorities are coordinating with the Health Directorate and veterinary units to intensify preventative measures and expand public awareness campaigns.
To prevent further spread, the administration has prohibited the transport of animals from affected areas. Hemorrhagic fever is a severe viral disease transmitted through direct contact with infected animals or via carrier insects.
