DORTMUND, Germany โ Bayern Munich defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-1 at Signal Iduna Park on Saturday to win the German Super Cup. The first half ended goalless despite Bayern's early pressure.
Michael Olise turned provider early in the second half, setting up Nathaniel Brown, who finished from close range to put Bayern ahead. Olise then doubled the advantage with a powerful individual strike from inside the penalty area.
Dortmund pulled a goal back when Fabio Silva met a pass from Daniel Svensson inside the box and saw his effort deflected past the goalkeeper. The hosts pushed for an equalizer in the closing stages but were unable to find another goal.
Bayern held on to lift the trophy, claiming their second piece of silverware since the start of the new season.
