BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Baghdad police dismantled a criminal gang responsible for a wave of motorcycle thefts in the Karkh district, according to a Friday statement from the Karkh Police Command.
The operation relied on intelligence work and detailed field surveillance. Officers set up multiple ambushes at various locations across Karkh's area of responsibility, leading to the arrest of all gang members within a short period.
Karkh Anti-Gang Department teams monitored the activities of the gang, identified as "Muhammed el-Aswad," and collected detailed information on its criminal operations. The series of thefts had caused material losses to numerous citizens.
Police said they initiated legal proceedings against the suspects and handed the case file to relevant authorities for further investigation.
