Apple wins preliminary court approval of $250 million Siri AI settlement

A federal court in the Northern District of California has given preliminary approval to a $250 million class-action settlement against Apple over delays in delivering its AI-enhanced Siri features. The lawsuit was filed after Apple Intelligence capabilities unveiled at WWDC 2024 were advertised but not delivered to users on time. Under the settlement, consumers who purchased iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16 series devices between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025, will be eligible for individual payouts ranging from $25 to $95. The court's decision clears the way for a dedicated website to be launched so eligible users can submit claims. Apple said the claims site will go live in the coming months and that eligible users will be notified within 45 days of the initial approval. The company has already begun rolling out the delayed Siri features to a limited user base through the iOS 27 Beta, with a stable release planned for September 2026. No further court dates have been announced for the next stage of the settlement process.
