Ancelotti says Neymar available for Brazil's group-stage match against Scotland

MIAMI — Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti said Neymar is fit to play in Brazil's third Group C match against Scotland, after the 34-year-old forward missed the team's opening two games with a calf injury. Neymar has not featured in the tournament since returning to the World Cup squad following roughly three years away from the national team. Speaking at a pre-match news conference in Miami, Ancelotti said the forward had taken part in training throughout the week and was ready to feature against Scotland. Asked how long Neymar could play, Ancelotti offered a lighthearted response, saying the striker could play 90 minutes "even if it's just walking" and was in good condition. He added that Neymar's technical quality would strengthen the team and that his presence on and off the pitch was helping younger players gain experience. Brazil opened its campaign with a 1-1 draw against Morocco before beating Haiti 3-0. Ancelotti said the side was not at its best in the first match but improved in the second, and set the target of finishing top of Group C with a stronger display against Scotland.
