BAGHDAD, Iraq โ The Anbar provincial government announced that the province's largest gas extraction and development investment project will be launched soon. Governor Omar Mishan Dubbus said the project is a strategic step to increase local gas production and reduce reliance on imports.
According to the announcement, the project is designed to support Iraq's energy sector and create hundreds of jobs. Dubbus said the provincial administration will provide all necessary facilitation, citing the project's expected role in stimulating Anbar's economy and strengthening the province's position on the national energy map.
The project will be carried out by Kar, the company that won the tender in the sixth licensing round launched by the Ministry of Oil to develop the Halisiyah gas field in western Anbar. The statement said the project aims to contribute to national energy output. No further details on the timeline or production targets were immediately available.
