BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” A sewerage project in Iraq's Anbar province has reached 97% completion, according to the director general of the General Sewerage Directorate, Imad Tawfiq Al-Mirza. He said the project is of strategic importance to Fallujah and will directly improve environmental and health services in the city. Al-Mirza reported that work has covered 91 kilometers of stormwater lines, 300 kilometers of wastewater networks and all associated transmission lines. Five wastewater pumping stations and two stormwater pumping stations have been completed and put into service, along with a central treatment unit with a design capacity of 35,000 cubic meters per day. The director general said construction would continue in line with the approved schedule and technical specifications. No further details on the remaining works or completion date were immediately available.
