BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Al-Shorta, the Baghdad-based Iraqi League champions, have begun restructuring their squad for the upcoming season. Omani head coach Rashid Jabir stepped down after failing to reach a new agreement with club management. Jabir had guided the team to the 2025-2026 Iraqi Stars League championship.
Several players have also departed. Omani midfielder Essam Al-Subhi signed with Thailand's Thai Port FC, while Nigerian defender Daniel Cibola transferred to Karmah Club. Mustafa Walid, who spent several seasons with the squad, announced his departure.
