DUHOK, Iraq โ Authorities in Duhok province have located 43 artillery shells in a village in the Mangesh district and transported them to a disposal site, the provincial directorate of mine affairs said. The directorate's official, Riker Bisefki, said an explosive ordnance disposal team was dispatched to Baลi village after the directorate received a tip about the presence of explosive remnants in the area.
The team determined that the items were 43 artillery shells measuring 100 millimeters in caliber, Bisefki said. The shells were moved to a designated disposal site for processing.
The directorate urged residents to stay away from any objects suspected of being war remnants and to report such findings through the free 182 hotline.
